    Dear Mike:

A note to get you know that your crew, led by Jason, did an exemparly move for us. From the moment they arrived, until everyhing was unloaded they treated our furntiure and other belongings as if they were as important to them as to us. They were highly professional, personable, and worked together like a well oiled machine.

Jim and I have moved 4 times in 11 years and this was by far the best...

Moving Pitfalls (Part 4) – Planning Moving Day

Pitfalls can happen during your move if you are not prepared. A “pitfall” is a hidden or not easily recognized danger or difficulty. At Heritage Moving & Storage, Inc., we want to help our Roanoke, Salem, Vinton, Smith Mountain Lake, Botetourt County, and Blacksburg customers avoid common moving pitfalls.

Pitfall 4: Failure to plan your day around your moving company.

Chances are your moving company is not the only company you’re dealing with on moving day. There is a lot going on during a move. Usually there is a house closing taking place—maybe even two closings. There may be last-minute errands to run or jobs being done at the new location.

Customers who don’t plan around their moving company often find themselves in a situation where they are forced to leave during the move. This is not ideal, as we rely on our customers to have someone present to answer questions that come up as we are handling your belongings. Often this causes delays in the move.

If moving day is packed full of appointments, have a family member step in to be present during the move. Plan your moving day well, and avoid this common moving pitfall.
